Grading

The final grade in the course will be determined by your scores in homework, a midterm exam, and a final exam using the weights given below

Academic Integrity

All students are expected to abide by the LSA Community Standards of Academic Integrity. Any instances of academic dishonesty will be reported to the Dean’s office.

Accommodation for Students with Disabilities

If you think you need accommodation for a disability, please let me know at your earliest convenience. Some aspects of this course, the assignments, the in-class activities, and the way the course is usually taught may be modified to facilitate your participation and progress. As soon as you make me aware of your needs, we can work with the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) to help us determine appropriate academic accommodations. SSD (734-763-3000; http://www.umich.edu/sswd) typically recommends accommodations through a Verified Individualized Services and Accommodations (VISA) form. Any information you provide is private and confidential and will be treated as such.

R Notebooks

The notebooks containing lecture material are all in a github repository:

https://github.com/ambujtewari/stats306-winter2020/

The notebooks themselves are just static documents (in JSON format) but clicking on the links will show you properly rendered notebooks thanks to the awesome rendering service at http://nbviewer.jupyter.org/.

In order to run code in these notebooks, you can simply copy-paste the code cells into RStudio. You can also run the notebooks live here: https://mybinder.org/. Just copy-paste github URL above into the box that says “Github repository name or URL”. Also, if you navigate to the github repository above, you will see a “launch binder” button that you press to launch the live notebooks.
